Academic and Applied Sports Science Researcher
During his time in the UK (Bath Rugby), Chris was involved with UK Sport in multiple applied sports science projects. His major project involved monitoring salivary hormones responses to competition and training in rugby union. As a result Chris formalised this work into a PhD. His thesis is titled, "The efficacy of salivary testosterone and cortisol as a biomarker of training and competition in elite rugby union athletes." He currently has four articles published in high impact peer review journals.
Product Designer and Engineer
Chris has enjoyed inventing products from a young age. Being involved in the fitness industry for almost 20 years, he has seen gaps in the markets of which he's been able to apply his inventing ability to this area. The Thera-wedge was first product he designed which eventually led onto the Backsak. More recently after Chris was introduced to BFR training he saw that there was not anyone commercially selling a safe and viable product to assist with this type of training. The product has evolved over time and is a world class product.
Speaker and Consultant
Chris also enjoys speaking about strength and conditioning and BFR training and how to incorporate them into enhancing human performance.
His clients include:
- Australian Institute of Sport
- Australian Strength and Conditioning Association
Chris is based in Brisbane, Australia. Book him as your next speaker for an event or as a consultant for your business.
